The State Department of Human Resources Development has released updated vaccination rates for the Hawaii state executive.

From 13.09.2021:

  • 88.8% of the state’s executive staff are vaccinated against COVID-19
  • 2.6% are partially vaccinated
  • 8.6% are NOT vaccinated.

The departments with the highest vaccination coverage are:

  • Personnel development department: 100%
  • Department of Economy, Economic Development & Tourism: 95.4%
  • Labor and Industrial Relations Department: 95%

The departments with the lowest vaccination coverage are:

  • Public Safety Department: 79.4%
  • Transport department: 84.9%
  • Human Services department: 87.8%

“The state of Hawaii has continued its upward trend, increasing its executive vaccination rate by more than 3% over the past month. In addition, more employees have chosen to be vaccinated, which leads us to a more fully vaccinated and safer population, ”said DHRD Director Ryker Wada. “I remain optimistic that the state will continue to increase its vaccination rate in the coming months.”

“I am pleased with the vaccination rates for the employees of the country’s executive branch. A highly vaccinated workforce not only protects our jobs, employees and our families, but also reduces the likelihood of disruptions in government services, ”said Governor Ige.

While DHRD was collecting, aggregating, and comparing data, it found an error in the formula used to calculate the August 16, 2021 data. The updated numbers are as follows:

From 08/16/2021:

  • 85.6% of the country’s executive staff were vaccinated against COVID-19 (previously reported as 87.6%)
  • 5.1% were partially vaccinated (previously 4.9% stated)
  • 9.3% were NOT vaccinated (previously 7.6% stated)

More than 300 employees have joined the executive branch since August 16 and are not included in these data. The DHRD reports that three members of the executive branch have been fired for non-compliance with vaccination / testing requirements.
