Ex-NBA player arrested for allegedly falsifying Hawaii COVID test
A former NBA player was among two Californians arrested in Hawaii after police said the couple uploaded fake COVID-19 test results to the Hawaii Safe Travels portal.
All travelers to Hawaii must have negative tests for COVID or undergo a mandatory 10-day quarantine period prior to flying to the islands. According to Kauai Police, Lazar Hayward Jr., 34, and Raven Randle, 33, flew from Los Angeles on an American Airlines direct flight Tuesday. Upon arrival at Lihue Airport, their pre-submitted COVID test results were flagged by the Hawaii Safe Travels system.
