Michael Madsen’s son Hudson dies of suspected suicide in Hawaii at the age of 26

Reservoir Dogs actor Michael Madsen’s son has been found dead after taking his own life in Hawaii.

Hudson Madsen, Quentin Tarantino’s 26-year-old godson, died of an “apparently self-inflicted gunshot,” according to The Sun.

“I can confirm that Hudson Lee Madsen, 26, died from a gunshot wound to the head in a suspected suicide on the island of Oahu,” said a spokeswoman for the Department of the Medical Examiner in Honolulu.

Hudson’s mother DeAnna Madsen, 61, traveled to Hawaii to deal with the tragedy, a source told the publication.

He is survived by his wife Carlie and as of August 2019 has been residing in Wahiawa, Hawaii after serving some time in the US Army where he reportedly spent time in Afghanistan.

Madsen was stationed at Schofield Barracks in Oahu, home of the 25th Infantry Division, and was promoted in March.

Last week, on January 15, Carlie underwent surgery and paid tribute to her husband for his support.

“I just want to give kudos to my amazing husband!” she wrote on Instagram.

“Yesterday I had surgery to remove a tumor from one of my breasts and he was and was so patient throughout the process!

“We were in the hospital for about 7 hours yesterday and while I was being operated on he went to the destination and got me flowers, comfy pajamas, my favorite candy and a map! He’s also been a great help in my recovery and I’m just so grateful!

“I also want to thank my family and friends who reached out to make sure I was okay and to check on me! I love you all so much.’

The pair met in 2017 when Minnesota-born Carlie commented on Facebook to a friend asking if he was “a Keeper”: “He’s actually in the Army and stationed down in Colorado! I met him through my best friend who lives there! And I think he’s a goalkeeper!’

Madsen replied: “I’m a goalkeeper by the way”.

In June 2017, she posted a sweet black and white photo of them along with the caption, “I miss you so much.”

Madsen suggested getting on one knee on Pike’s Peak in Colorado in November 2017.

The couple were married in 2018, says Carlie’s Facebook.

Soon after, he was assigned to the army.

On January 20, 2019, a friend commented, “Are you home yet Hudson Madsen?”

Carlie replied: “No, it keeps getting pushed back” – accompanied by a crying emoji.

On January 27, 2019, he was home, and Carlie posted a photo of the couple together.

The couple held an “official” wedding at Cheyenne Mountain State Park in Colorado in June 2019, “although we’d been married a year and a half at that point,” Carlie wrote on Instagram.

“It was one of the happiest days of my life but also very uhhh…interesting I would say.

“We had an outdoor ceremony during a thunderstorm and nobody could hear us.

“I threw up in the bathroom until about 2 minutes before walking down the island.

“We had to fire our DJ halfway through the reception and luckily another, much better DJ showed up.

“We almost got kicked out of our reception area because people were caught smuggling in alcohol and were caught trying to, umm… ‘extracurricular activities’.

“BUT even after all of that, it was still one of the best days of my life because I got to celebrate with all our family and friends and got to marry my best friend for the second time.

“Thank you to everyone who made it and made it a day I will never forget.

“And thank you to my wonderful husband for everything you do for me and our family. I couldn’t be happier to have you by my side in this crazy life. I love you more.’

In May 2020 he was deployed again, this time from his new home in Hawaii.

“Saying goodbye to you never gets easier,” she wrote.

“I already miss you so much. Please come home quickly. See you in 5 months my dear. I love you more.’

In March 2021, Carlie announced they were starting fertility treatment and said she was sharing her news to end the stigma.

“In the last two months, Hudson and I have found that we cannot have children naturally and that we need to do IVF,” she wrote.

“We were also told that it will likely take two or more IVF treatments before I get pregnant. I’m only sharing this because it needs to be normalized and more talked about.

Her Facebook pages were also full of loving comments.
