Mariano Tango Calpito, 66, of Waimea died on July 18 at North Hawaii Community Hospital. He was born in Ballesteros, Cagayan, Philippines. Visitation 4-6pm Tuesday, August 17th, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Wake up call at 6 p.m. Visit again 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 18, in the morgue. Burial at 10 a.m. Burial afterwards at the Alae cemetery. Casual clothing. Seats are limited; Face masks and social distancing required. Survived by Mrs. Soledad Calpito of Waimea; Daughters, Maricel (Tony) Badon from Waikoloa, Maryjane (Roger) Rafael, Marivic (Jonas) Uberita and Mariehnor (Renato) Remolacio from Manila, Philippines; Son, Marjohn (Lesly) Calpito from Cagayan, Philippines; Sister Lilian (Gregorio) Tablit of Waimea; Brothers Arsenio (Imelda) Calpito of Las Vegas and Lito (Evangeline) Calpito of Cagayan; Mother-in-law Esmenia Unciano Dela Cruz of Cagayan; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; Nieces and nephews. Richard Noboru Hanano, 95, of Waimea died at home on July 23. Born in Kohala, he was a retired station manager with Hawaiian Airlines in Kona, retired president of the Hanano Nursery, a member of the Kamuela Hongwanji Mission and the Kamuela Lions Club and a veteran of the US Army. Private services held. Survived by sons Michael (Jane) Hanano and Leslie (Manu) Hanano from Waimea, Ricky (Sylvia) Hanano from Kona; Daughter, Marvis Hanano of Kona; Brother, James Hanano of Kohala; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; Nieces and nephews. Patricia Colleen Matsumoto, 79, of Pahoa died at home on July 31st. Born in California, she was an antique dealer, former ballet dancer, member of the Rainbow Girls, and an animal lover. Private services. Survived by daughters Michelle (Darrell) Aquino from Kailua, Oahu, Stephanie Dunnam from Pahoa and Sarah DeMarcus from San Diego; Sons, Glen DeMarcus III of San Antonio and Cary Stock of Leavenworth, Washington; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Mark Kenji Sakata, 58, of Mesa, Arizona, died in Mesa on May 14th. Born in Hilo, he was an aircraft maintenance technician with Aloha Airlies in Honolulu and Southwest Airlines in Phoenix and a veteran of the US Air Force. Private services held. Survived by sisters Charlene (Henry) Shinohara, Rachel (Lerbert) Ancheta, Laureen (David) Masukawa and Adrienne (Patrick) Sugimoto; Brothers Brian (Cynthia) Sakata and Ian (Lori) Sakata; Nieces and nephews. Roy Toshiharu Tamane, 78, of Hilo, died July 12th at the Pohai Malama Care Center of Hawaii Care Choices. Born in Hilo, he was a retired carpenter at M. Sonomura Contracting Co. and worked for Constructors Hawaii Inc., Isemoto Contracting Co. and K. Iwashita Contractor, Member of Carpenters Union Local 745, Aviation Mechanic, US Army Veteran and Fisherman . Private services held. No flowers or codes (gifts of money). Survived by sisters Lillian Watanabe of Kaneohe, Oahu and Harriet (Ken) Nakao of Hilo; Aunts, cousins, a niece, nephews, a great-nephew, great-nieces and a great-great-niece. Ruth Tokie Tasaka, 98, of Honokaa, died on July 23 at the Hilo Life Care Center. Born in Honokaa, she was a retired employee of the former Hamakua Sugar Co. and a member of the Honokaa Hongwanji Mission and the Buddhist Women’s Association. Private services held. No codes (money gifts). Survived by brother-in-law Masao Tasaka of Honokaa; Sisters-in-law, Nancy Kaaekuahiwi from Honokaa and Ruth Akiko Dumadag from Kaneohe, Oahu; Nieces and nephews.
