The prayers for the unborn rally was one of many being held across the country at various times and locations, attended primarily by members of the Catholic Church. The event was also an opportunity to gather and say a prayer for unborn children.
The Kauai event took place Wednesday, which was attended by a handful of people, and attendee Terri Mansfield said the response from drivers along the freeway and community has been positive.
She also said that this rally is unique because it involves believers from other faiths.
“Several children joined parents and grandparents to hold signs and wave to passing cars. There was a lot of friendly honking and shaka waving. Many of us prayed the Rosary. Some participants came from a local Baptist church, so it was a strong testimony of interfaith,” Mansfield said.
Joining Rev. Fr Anthony Rapozo and Mansfield were other members of the parish of St Catherine of Alexandria in Kapa’a. Other Kauai Catholic churches were also represented, including the Immaculate Conception in Lihue and Holy Cross in Kalaheo.
