Coalition Sues Hawaii to Stop Aquarium Pet Trade From Reopening

Law360 (July 14, 2021, 10:51 p.m. EDT) – A coalition of Hawaiian residents, environmental groups, and fishermen sued the Hawaiian government Tuesday, alleging that it approved a revised environmental statement in July that was filed on behalf of an animal trading group by commercial fish collectors violates state laws and should be invalidated

The coalition consists of the environmental organizations Center of Biological Diversity and For the Fishes, the local Hawaiian fishermen Willie Kaupiko and Kai’mi Kaupiko, the diving entrepreneur Mike Nakachi and the religious association of the Hawaiian indigenous people Kai Palaoa.
