Road works pending on Oahu, Kauai, Island of Hawaii

HONOLULU (KHON2) – Drivers across Hawaii may want to plan their commute to work in advance as they prepare for the new week.

Some road works are being carried out on the islands.

Oahu drivers should look out for crews on the H-1 heading east and the Pali offramp. Electrical work is planned for both lanes of the offramp from Monday, September 27th. until Friday, October 1st from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Over in Nu’uanu there will be a road block to the north on the Pali Highway between Pauoa Road and Nu’uanu Pali Drive. This is for some patrol work, also from Monday to Friday, but from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

In east Honolulu, a two-lane closure of the lane on the Kalanianaole Highway is planned so that crews can install loop detectors from Wednesday, September 29 through Friday. It will be between Analii and Kaai streets from 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.

Further east on Oahu, Kalanianaole will see an alternate lane closure for restriction work between the Makapu’u Lighthouse Trail and Kokohead Rifle Road. scheduled Monday to Thursday, September 30, 9 a.m. to 1.30 p.m.

Kauai residents in Kapa’a watch out for a one-lane blockage on the Kuhio Highway between Mailihuna and Kawaihau streets. In the other lane, traffic will run in the opposite direction from Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

LBig Island drivers should block the Kuakini Highway between Walua Road and Mamalahoa Highway. This is for some landscaping work, 8:30 am to 2:30 pm through this Friday.
