The doctor is in! The Four Seasons Resort Oahu on Ko Olina has a swim-up bar next to its adults-only pool called Dr. Mai Tai’s introduced. And yes, you might have guessed it from the name – Dr. Mai Tai – the resort’s on-call cocktail doctor does his laps by the pool with signature rum-infused prescription elixirs.

These soothing libations are served via a bar in a decorated van parked right on the edge of the gorgeous infinity pool. In homage to the resort’s idyllic west coast location – where the majestic Waianae Mountain Range meets the turquoise blue ocean of the Pacific – acclaimed vintage artist from Oahu, Nick Kuchar, is at the forefront of the exterior design of the van Signature Art.

The menu at Dr. Mai Tai’s offers five Mai Tai variations, each appropriately named, with Oahu as inspiration. These refreshing tropical cocktails are made with rum from three different local distilleries – Old Lahaina Rum, Kōloa, and Oahu’s own Kō Hana – and topped with local flavors like Lilikoi (passion fruit, in this case a special salt is made from the seeds and rims of the glass) and macadamia syrup.

Old Lahaina Rum is a small batch rum that is handcrafted in Maui. It is said that Lahaina is the birthplace of Hawaii‘s distilled spirits. As an ode to Hawaiian history, a father and son’s half-retired hobby became much more than a passion project, and today produces three expressions of rum: silver, gold and dark.

Kōloa Rum is made from pure cane sugar and rainwater from Mount WaiÊ»aleÊ»ale on KauaÊ»i. Made in the island’s first licensed distillery, this rum has nearly a dozen different types and flavors – and even ready-to-drink cocktails. At the Four Seasons Resort Oahu near Ko Olina Dr. At Mai Tai’s you can find several drinks made with coconut rum.

Kō Hana Agricole Rum is best known for using a single variety of sugar cane in each of its rums, grown directly on their farm. Proudly considers itself a bottling farm for rum, which is hand-picked, pressed into juice, and then distilled, resulting in gloriously pure cane rum.

Here’s a look at the elixir-filled menu that you can find at Dr. Find Mai Tai’s with this special Hawaiian rum:

hillside is made from Old Lahaina Dark Rum, Kōloa Coconut Rum, Guava, Lilikoi and Hibiscus.

East West is made from Kō Hana Koho Rum, Disaronno, Cointreau, brown sugar vanilla and Five Spice.

Hawaiian honey is made with Kō Hana Koa, Giffard Creme de Peche, Luxardo, lemon, honey and macadamia syrup.

sunset is made with Old Lahaina Light & Dark Rums, Amaretto, Cointreau, cherry-flavored vanilla, Lilikoi and pineapple.

Maui’s hook is made from Kō Hana Koho, Kōloa coconut rum and hibiscus.

Sip, swim, and enjoy these five reefs on a classic Mai Tai while taking in breathtaking ocean views from this converted coveted pool location. Dr. Mai Tai’s is located on the water’s edge of the property’s famous infinity pool and is open daily from 1:00 p.m. until the pool closes.
