Honolulu (KHON2) – Kailuas Solar Shack hosted a third surfboard swap on Saturday June 26th and was invited to swap, shop, sell, share, or view surfboards and souvenirs.

At the Surfboard Swap on Saturday there was a historic surfboard collection by Randy Lalique and Mark Fragare.

The event will take place on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Kainehe Str. 44. It took place in the parking lot of the Solar Shack in Japan. There, Rarick and Fragale shared decades of knowledge with a rare surfboard to collect.

The event was free and was “pure stalking” by a group of friends who shared their passion for surfing, boarding, knowledge and history with the community.

I was also able to buy organic coffee and groceries at the event.

Lalique has been in the surfing industry for over 60 years and co-founded the World Pro Tour (WSL) in 1975. He produced all of the events on the north coast of Oahu for 38 years and retired in 2015.

Fragale began collecting surf souvenirs at the age of 16 and was a curator of the Honolulu Surfing Museum in Waikiki. He currently lives in Kailua and shares his passion for surfing and its culture with others.
